The Somerset 'Mike Manning Audio' Rebels have today signed the services of Bristol based Simon Walker until the end of the season as cover for injury victim Trevor Harding.

With the onset of the new rider averages due out next week, the only option available to the Rebels would have been a Conference League guest rider, and with this in mind, Team Manager Mick Bell moved quickly to secure the services of Walker. "Simon rode for the Rebels in 2004, he is a Somerset asset and following his recent guest performances for us his signing until the season's end was a natural choice."

Walker, affectionately known as 'Psycho' with the Rebel fans, ended the 2004 season with an average of 3.07, and has been riding for Boston in the Conference League this season. "The Rebels are, and always will be, my number 1 team to ride for." Said Simon on his signing. "Although my signing is only for the short term, I will be giving 100% to the Rebels and help them towards a possible Premier League Play-Off place."

Simon will go straight into the Rebels team for Friday night's Premier League encounter with the Isle of Wight and will ride in the number 6 berth.
