Sheffield target all three Premier Trophy points when they go to Newcastle on Monday night (6.30). When the sides met at Owlerton in March Andre Compton and his men romped to a 64-30 win which means the aggregate bonus point should be a formality in the Brough Park return.

But Sheffield know they need an away win from this meeting, and/or the trip to Edinburgh in June, if they are to reach the semi-finals of the national competition.

Co-promoter Neil Machin said: "Newcastle are a very difficult team to beat around their home track, we are only too aware of that, but we have riders within our team who can go well around there.

"We know we need to win away from home to build on the victory up at Redcar which gave us all a boost, but this one will not be easy.

"The Diamonds have revamped their team and although they were pretty poor opposition around our place I expect it to be totally different up there."
