New signings Nicki Glanz and Billy Legg led the way as Plymouth opened their Conference League campaign with a 47-43 away win over Cleveland on Saturday afternoon.

The recovered from an early deficit to gain victory with double figure scores from Glanz, Legg and skipper Seemond Stephens. Stephens trailed home third behind Mark Burrows and Gary Beaton in the opening heat, but fought back to win his three remaining races.

Legg, who switched to the number five position in place of Adam Roynon, was particularly impressive. He was unbeaten in his four programmed rides. Glanz top-scored from reserve with 14 points from six starts, being beaten only by Beaton and Jamie Courtney.

The Devils are in action again this Sunday evening (April 22) when they visit Oxford in the Conference Trophy (8pm).
They return to the St Boniface Arena next Friday evening (Aug 27) (7.30pm) when they face Rye House in the Conference League.
