Newcastle went down to Norfolk with a 10 point advantage which they needed to maintain but with the high level of force that the King's Lynn Stars race around their own circuit in 2007, it was always going to be a very difficult night.

Rye House Rockets' Robert Mear deputised in place of Ashley Johnson on a track he has rideen before but it just wan't to be his night failing to score from 4 rides as did Ross Brady who included a retirement in heat 7.

Josef Franc managed to take 2 heat wins both from the gate over Tomas Topinka and Paul Lee in a tactical ride for double points. Newcastle's captain Christian Henry had a rare match in which he failed to gain a heat win. He did, however mange a 2nd place in heat 4 over guest for the Stars Simon Lambert and finished 3rd in 2 of this other raced ahead of Mear.

Team Manager George English said:" It was disappointing to go down at King's Lynn by as much especially as we took a 10 point lead with us but we knew it wasn't going to be an easy task before we got here, no matter how positively we looked at things. Having said that we are the highest scoring visitors to race at the Norfolk Arena this year! So at least we came away with that accolade".
