With no Elite League action this week because of the staging of the 2003 World Cup in Denmark, the Oxford Silver Machine Academy Conference League side will take centre stage this Friday at Sandy Lane. And Friday's meeting will see fans being the recipients of a fantastic summer bonus in that those attending will see two meetings for the price of one.

There's thirty heats of Conference League action as the Academy firstly take on the Wimbledon Dons and then do battle with the Newport Mavericks. And the great news is that normal Conference League admission prices will apply.

To accommodate the 30 heats of action, the start time has been brought forward by 15 minutes to 7.15pm and Silver Machine promoter Nigel Wagstaff is urging Oxfords fans to turn out in force to support their Academy side.

"With us putting on two meetings for the price of one," he said, "this is the ideal opportunity for those who have not witnessed Conference League action to do so. We have purposely not increased admission prices in order to encourage more people to come along and see what Conference League racing is all about."

"Anyone who hasn't been before will, I promise, be very impressed with the standard of racing. We've got some excellent young prospects in the side and my message to the fans is come along on Friday and support them."
