The Oxford Silver machine were pushed to the very last heat before claiming two vital Elite League points in a pulsating clash at Oxford Stadium last night. After nearly three weeks of inactivity, there were no signs of any cobwebs as the Silver Machine raced to a twelve point lead after just four heats.

Any thoughts that this was going to be a walkover were quickly dispelled however as the Eagles had reduced the deficit to just two after nine heats. A determined display from American ace Greg Hancock and an excellent guest in the shape of Coventry's Ryan Fisher ensure the Silver Machine held on and grabbed the vital win in the last heat of the night.

Oxford move onto Wolverhampton on Monday evening before hosting Eastbourne again next Friday in the British League Cup. There is no meeting at Oxford on Wednesday, July 20th, 2003.
