Sheffield Tigers maintained their unbeaten home record but lost the aggregate bonus point in their 55-34 win over Trelawny at Owlerton which took them back to the top of the Premier League if only temporarily.

The absence of vice-captain Andre Compton once again proved costly for the reigning champions who shared his four programmed rides amongst his colleagues which resulted in just six-points - well below what Compton would have scored.

Sheffield gave themselves a chance of nicking the bonus point when James Birkinshaw and Andrew Moore collected a 5-1 maximum in the penultimate race. But Trelawny duo Matej Zagar and ex-Sheffield man Simon Stead - in as a guest for Chris Harris - romped to a Heat 15 maximum to ensure the bonus went to Cornwall.

Sheffield's top man was youngster Ricky Ashworth with a superb 13+1 from six rides and skipper Wilson was again in fine form with 12. Zagar made a stunning Owlerton debut for Trelawny with 13 - just a fortnight before he represents the club in the Premier League Riders' Championship at the South Yorkshire venue - and Stead scored 11+1.
