Ginetta will unveil its new LMP1 chassis at the Autosport International convention show in January ahead of its step up to the premier class of the FIA World Endurance Championship for the 2018 season.

Ginetta confirmed earlier this year it would be producing a customer chassis for the 2018 WEC season, with Manor announcing last week it would be teaming up with the British manufacturer for an LMP1 entry.

Additional entries working with Ginetta are set to be confirmed ahead of the new WEC season, starting at Spa in early May, with the company committing to a production run of 10 chassis covering three two-car teams.

Ginetta will lift the covers off its new LMP1 model on the opening day of Autosport International on January 11, taking place at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.

"I am delighted to be launching the Ginetta LMP1 car at Autosport International. The show represents the ideal environment to introduce our latest model to the media, industry and fans who are the lifeblood of British motorsport," Ginetta chairman Lawrence Tomlinson said.

"Not only that, but we’ll be using the show to demonstrate the Ginetta motorsport ladder in action, with our Ginetta Racing Drivers Club putting on a show in the Live Action Arena."

The final revised LMP1 regulations for the 2018/19 WEC 'super season' will be finalised at the next meeting of the FIA World Motor Sport Council in December.
