Biography

In his current role, Robert has been working on all things motorsport, specifically two-wheel racing. After studying Sports Journalism at the Universtiy of South Wales for three years, where he obtained a 2:1 degree, he has been the WorldSBK and BSB Content Executive since Febuary 2021. Not limited to just WorldSBK and BSB, Robert has also been a key cog in the continued coverage of MotoGP. He is an expert in the field after covering motorcycle racing for four years - this included writing for his University’s sports publication and spending just over a year working for the Checkered Flag.

As a keen motorcycle rider and current owner of a 2021 Ducati Monster 937, riding motorcycles has been a big passion of his well before he started riding in 2019. Prior to the Monster 937, the bike of choice was a KRT-inspired Kawasaki 125cc. While he was more of a Formula 1 fan growing up - Michael Schumacher was his idol during the early 2000s - Robert became a big enthusiast of motorcycle racing when watching Casey Stoner together with Ducati in MotoGP. Having attended several F1 races as a teenager, followed by MotoGP events such as Silverstone in 2018 and 19, Assen 2019 and Valencia 2019, the buzz associated with racing is what interests him the most.

As part of his role with the Checkered Flag, Robert started off by covering WorldSBK in 2019 as the lead editor, before taking over the role of lead MotoGP content provider in 2020. He also shadowed the BT Sport team at the 2019 British Grand Prix, which included interviewing Michael Laverty, team owner of the newly-formed Visiontrack Racing Moto3 Team.
