Chris Alajajian will return to the circuit that kick started his V8 Supercar career for this weekend's fourth round of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series in Queensland.

Alajajian's impressive V8 debut 12 months ago included a second-place finish in the reverse-grid race before a possible top 12 finish in the third event was ended after contact with another car.

The debut performance opened many eyes to Alajajian's potential in the class and set up a 12-month stretch of learning and development for both driver and team. At Wakefield Park raceway in April this year 12 months of hard work came to fruition when Alajajian won his first race in dominant fashion.

Alajajian commented that his return to Queensland sees him a better driver than when he arrived at the track for his V8 debut some 363 days ago.

"The last 12 months have taught me a lot about driving," the former Australian Formula 3 driver said. "I feel that I'm going back to Queensland raceway a better driver and much more in-tune with what it takes to get the best out of a V8 Supercar.

"I can't wait to go back to Queensland and a circuit I actually quite enjoy, to see if we can take the Protecnica Racing Commodore back to the front of the field."

The last tine the Fujitsu series raced was in May this year, a sodden Winton Raceway creating a difficult round for Alajajian after a race-one rollover left his Commodore stranded on its side, in the sand.

Top-twenty finishes in the final two races may have been a solid comeback - giving him enough points to lay 20th in the series (He missed the first round in Adelaide) - but Alajajian has placed Winton firmly at the back of his mind as preparation for the weekend ahead.

"Bad weekends are part of the sport," he said. "To move on you have to put them away at the back of your mind and focus on the job at hand. Winton didn't go well for us but the Protecnica team has worked very hard to make sure that we are prepared to do the best possible job this weekend.

"I don't like looking back on what has happened, instead I look to the future to what can happen and I'm confident that this weekend can be a good one for us."
