Quentin Gilbert and Renaud Jamoul reflect after taking the WRC2 victory on Rallye de France-Alsace...

Q:
Congratulations! Was this weekend a challenge for you?

Quentin Gilbert:
Yes. Of course we hoped to win the rally and we did. It's fantastic. After such a difficult season, to win at home in front of our partners and fans is just incredible.

Q:
Did you feel the pressure today especially from Bernardo Sousa?

Quentin Gilbert:
Yes, this morning we had a little pressure. It was a good one. Bernardo was only five seconds far from us. We had to push hard in all stages today so we can finish eight seconds ahead of him. It was really a good battle.

Q:
It looks like you had some dramas during the weekend. What happened to you?

Quentin Gilbert:
We had some technical problems with the power steering in the long stage the first day. The second day, we don't know exactly what happened; we thought it was the power steering again but the mechanics fixed the problem and we had a very fast car today to win the rally.

Q:
Were you happy with your pace?

Quentin Gilbert:
Yes, for our first time on tarmac with this Ford Fiesta R5, I'm quite satisfied with our pace. And to win is a fantastic achievement as there was a great competition here with guys like Sousa, Chardonnet and Tidemand who won in Germany. He was an interesting reference for us.

Q:
What about the rest of the season?

Quentin Gilbert:
Now we go to Spain in the R2 for the last Drive DMack Fiesta Trophy round. We hope to be fast there too. It's still possible to finish third in this Trophy. Afterwards, we will compete in Rally GB at the wheel of an R5 car.

Q:
What is your plan for next year?

Quentin Gilbert:
So far, nothing is decided yet. For sure, we hope to compete in the WRC 2 Championship because we have got a valuable experience with R5 cars.

Q:
Renaud, you had quite a successful weekend...

Renaud Jamoul:
Yes but it was not an easy weekend. For the first time with the car on tarmac, we are really happy. Pontus, Bernardo, and S?bastien had good experience with their cars, so it's a great result for us. It was our home rally but there were a lot of new stages. We had a good pace in those new stages so it's really good news.

Q:
Does this achievement give you confidence ahead of the Spanish rally?

Renaud Jamoul:
Yes, even if we will use a different car there. But it's good for our confidence after such a disappointing start to the season. We had different dramas: a crash in Portugal, technical issues in other events. Now the confidence is there and we hope to do a strong end of season. We will try to win in Wales even if it will be difficult.

Q:
Were you feeling pressure in the car today?

Renaud Jamoul:
Yes for sure. I think the gap never exceeded 15 seconds. This morning we were a little bit slower in the second stage because of difficult conditions and a difficult tyre choice as Bernardo had three hard tyres and three softs and we had four hard tyres. The first stage was good but the second one was damp and a bit dirty.
