Subaru World Rally team driver Petter Solberg will the start the Tour de Corse today [Friday], despite crashing heavily during yesterday's shakedown.

Despite the considerable damage to his Impreza WRC, ten Subaru mechanics worked through the night Thursday, completing the work at 0600hrs this morning.

Solberg received special permission from the rally organisers to miss Thursday nights ceremonial start.

The Norwegian, who lies fourth in the drivers' world rally championship, nine points behind leader Richard Burns, needs a good result this weekend, if he is to maintain his hope of clinching his first ever title.
