Skoda driver, Alex Bengue has set his sights on being quick from the off on the Rallye Deutschland this coming weekend, when he contests only his second WRC event of the year in the Fabia WRC, after also running back in January, on the Monte Carlo Rally.

The Frenchman though hasn't been completely out of action since then - and he recently won the ADAC Eifel-Rallye back in July, which, Skoda used to prepare for the eleventh round in the WRC.

The ADAC Eifel-Rallye is an all-asphalt event run around the town of Daun, to the north east of Trier where this weekend's Rallye Deutschland is based, something which gave Bengue a vital chance to test the latest asphalt developments of the Fabia WRC 05 in competition ahead of the WRC event.

"I like this rally very much because it is different every day but if the weather is wet then it is very difficult," he warned.

"It will be important for me to be quick from the start because I haven't driven in the WRC since Monte Carlo and I don't know the speed of my opponents but I hope the gap is very close!"
