Kimi Raikkonen is reported to be considering his racing career following the death of his father.

Matti Raikkonen passed away suddenly at the age of 56 just two days before Christmas having supported his son throughout a racing career that saw him become F1 title winner in 2007.

Having left Ferrari, Raikkonen moved to the WRC last year with the Citroen Junior Team although rumours have persisted since the conclusion of the season that the Finn could move to either the Monster World Rally Team or MINI for 2011.

However, following the death of his father, Raikkonen is now reported to be considering whether to halt his career with co-driver Kaj Lindstrom telling the Finnish newspaper Iltalehti that all plans for the new season were on ice following Raikkonen's loss.

"Since the death of Matti Raikkonen, all the plans are on ice," he said. "Let's hope he stays in rallying. The chances of success are much better in the second year than the first, because you don't have to be learning all sorts of things all of the time."
