With a year of experience under his belt with the M-Sport World Rally Team, Elfyn Evans was looking to build upon solid foundations in 2015 to climb up the WRC ladder and he endured a campaign filled with highs and lows.

The Welsh driver made a solid start year by matching his previous best results at Rallye Monte Carlo and Rally Mexico while taking a career best of sixth place in snowy Rally Sweden.

Evan's first major high point came in the shape of a maiden WRC podium with third place in Argentina, narrowly behind the two Citroens, in just his second attempt at the South American event. With an impressive platform Evans had hoped to kick on in Portugal but was brought crashing back down in the return to Europe by multiple offs.

In a rollercoaster middle third of 2015 Evans bounced back immediately with fourth place in Italy but the two following rallies saw him leave pointless due to a retirement in Poland and a technical issue in Finland.

After consecutive lows a return to form followed with sixth place in Germany, punctuated by another solid performance in Australia, which set up a surprising best result of the year. As his rivals faltered around him in Corsica Evans produced a mature and measured display to take second place in Tour de Corse, which also gave M-Sport fresh life in the manufacturers' fight.

However, his year unravelled in unfortunate circumstances when he crashed out in Rally de Espana before a disappointing sixth place in front of his home fans in North Wales.

Despite a solid improvement and step up on his rookie year with M-Sport - collecting eight more WRC championship points, two rostrums results and finishing a place higher in seventh in the final drivers' standings - Evans has lost his place in Malcolm Wilson's premier class set-up for 2016.
