That's it for today's coverage from Jerez. Enjoy the winter and hope to see you in February 2014. Until then!

20 October, 2013 - 15:32

It's been another fantastic World Superbike season. Make sure you follow Crash.net throughout the off season to keep abreast of rider movements and pre-season testing news.

20 October, 2013 - 15:29

Double winner Eugene Laverty says, "It's nice to win this and finish the season off strong. We gave Tom and Kawasaki everything we could. They were 2 different wins. The 1st I went around the outside at that corner, the 2nd was more conventional. Thanks to Aprilia, it's a shame I couldn't get the title but 2 wins will have to do."

20 October, 2013 - 15:28

Newly crowned World Superbike Champion Sykes says, "What a great way to end the season. I put a little cherry on top of winning the Championship. I'm over the moon for myself and Kawasaki. In Race 2 we made a step in the right direction. We did the hard work in France. But today I had no answer to Eugene and his bike. Overall, a fantastic year and I'm going into winter a very happy man!"

20 October, 2013 - 15:26

3rd placed man Guintoli says, "This year has been a fantastic experience. It's been great fighting for the title. After the shoulder injury I never got the mojo back. Today was like this, I just couldn't stay with Eugene and Tom. I can't wait to get my shoulder fixed over the winter and make some babies!"

20 October, 2013 - 15:22

For Eugene what better way to go into a job interview straight off a double win. That is 9 consecutive podiums for the #58, with 5 of those wins. Championship form but in the end it wasn't enough.

20 October, 2013 - 15:20

Guintoli doesn't look satisfied with his 14th podium of the year. The Frenchman's consistency put him in pole position for much of the season but in the end he didn't have the pace to live with Sykes and Laverty in those final 4 rounds.

20 October, 2013 - 15:17

Sykes' winning advantage ahead of Laverty in the Championship is 23 points. Guintoli finished 22 points back of his teammate in 3rd.

20 October, 2013 - 15:12

The final race of 2013 finished like this: Laverty, Sykes, Guintoli, Elias, Davies, Camier, Lanzi, Cluzel, Aitchison and Giugliano.

20 October, 2013 - 15:10

Sykes celebrates by lighting some fire crackers in the stadium section and takes off his special-newly-designed Shark lid to wave to the crowd on his way back to the pits. Would it be wise to run to the bookies now and put a quick tenner on him for the 2014 title?

20 October, 2013 - 15:09

The newly crowned Champ Sykes takes 2nd and doesn't look one bit saddened at losing out on the win. Guintoli completes the podium with a safe 3rd place.

20 October, 2013 - 15:08

Laverty takes his 9th win of 2013 and celebrates it with a superb wheelie which lasts the full length of the start-finish straight. That's his 2nd double victory of the year.

20 October, 2013 - 15:06

Barrier is down at Dry Sac on the penultimate lap! He slides out of 9th, remounts and is lucky not to get collected by Parkes as he rejoins the track.

20 October, 2013 - 15:05

Laverty will be cursing the mistakes he made in Aragon, Imola, Moscow and the Nürburgring. Had he held on in 1 of those occasions the Championship would certainly have been a lot tighter at the top.

20 October, 2013 - 15:03

It was fun while it lasted but Giugliano has been demoted to 11th behind Aitchison. He surely has an issue with his electronics as his Aprilia is making some interesting shapes. A valiant effort nonetheless.

20 October, 2013 - 15:02

The 1st 7 positions are fairly spread out now. The real action is between Cluzel, Giugliano, Barrier and Aitchison. Barrier makes another wild attempt to get by the Aprilia man into Dry Sac only to run wide. Giugliano needs no invitation to barge back through.

20 October, 2013 - 15:00

With 5 laps to go Sykes has settled for 2nd. The gap to the front has grown to 1.5secs and surely the Kawasaki, for once, is fairly content to nurse the bike home.

20 October, 2013 - 14:59

Giugliano's steady fall through the top 10 continues apace. Cluzel demotes him to 9th. Barrier and Aitchison will soon add to his misery.

20 October, 2013 - 14:57

Lap 16/21 and Sykes is already 0.5secs behind Sykes. Should Laverty go on to win this race that'll put him on 9 race wins, the same number as Sykes, in 2013.

20 October, 2013 - 14:56

Laverty moves into the lead! He slides under Sykes at the scene of his epic final lap overtake in Race 1. That was tidy and well executed. Can the newly crowned World Champion keep up?
