Carlos Checa heads to Assen looking to maintain the excellent form that has seen him triumphant during the opening two rounds of the 2011 World Superbike Championship.

Checa has won three of four races held at Phillip Island and Donington Park, enabling him to open up a comfortable 19 point margin over Marco Melandri in the overall standings.

Furthermore, Checa believes Assen, with its fast, flowing nature, will be well suited to the Althea Ducati, giving him confidence that he can consolidate the advantage over his rivals.

"I like the track and it is a very significant place as far as the history of motorcycling is concerned. I think it could be a good track for us and that we will be able to adapt well to it.

"Of course our objective is to maintain the level of performance that we've shown during the first races, we want to make the most of this opportunity. I just hope that the weather stays dry, at least for race day!"

Checa finished fourth and sixth at Assen in 2010.
