Sylvain Guintoli has expressed his gratitude to PATA Racing and Ducati for helping him secure a return to the World Superbike Championship after being ousted by Effenbert Liberty Racing.

The Frenchman had already confirmed he would be joining the Italian team earlier in the week, but the official announcement revealed he has been signed to ride alongside Lorenzo Zanetti in an expanded two-bike effort.

Set to make his debut at Silverstone having been forced to skip the Brno round, Guintoli - who won a race at Assen earlier this season and is currently classified in eighth position overall - is delighted to be back on the WSBK grid so swiftly.

"I am thrilled about our new partnership that allows me to look to the future with serenity. I thank Team Pata for your interest in me and I am grateful to Ducati, the sponsors and all those who have devoted their energy so that we could reach this agreement. My desire to run at my best has never failed and cannot wait to be able to show as early as the next race."

Signed to bring some experience to the PATA Racing team, manager Andrea Prando believes Guintoli's presence creates a formidable line-up.

"The team is strengthened with the arrival of an experienced rider like Sylvain Guintoli. This new collaboration is possible through the efforts of the main sponsors, who strongly believe in the work and in the efforts by the team to achieve championship excellence. The arrival of a rider with such calibre as Sylvain will also help our Lorenzo Zanetti who as always has our unconditional trust."

Guintoli arrives at PATA Racing after parting ways with Effenbert Liberty Racing, with whom he had competed since the start of the 2011 season. During that time, Guintoli notched up the team's first pole position and victory, but was perplexingly dropped ahead of the Brno round for his 'poor results'.
