Aprilia are yet to officially confirm the identity of retiring World Superbike champion Max Biaggi's replacement, but Sylvain Guintoli is clearly in pole position after making his RSV4 debut in factory livery at the start of the Jerez test.

The Frenchman - who began the 2012 season with Effenbert Liberty Ducati, finished it with Pata Ducati and took his first three WSBK wins along the way - is reported to have set the fifth fastest lap time, behind Kawasaki riders Tom Sykes and Loris Baz, plus confirmed 2013 Aprilia riders Eugene Laverty and Michel Fabrizio.

Ten Kate Honda team-mates Jonathan Rea and Leon Haslam were also on track, with Alstare Ducati and BMW Goldbet due to arrive later this week - alongside the Factory Ducati and Avintia Blusens MotoGP teams.
