The German round of the World Superbike Championship could be set to move from the Nurburgring, with the Lausitzring and Sachsenring being lined up as replacements.

The Nurburgring joined the WSBK calendar in 2008 as a replacement for the Lausitzring, but its contract expires at the end of this season and it remains uncertain whether the circuit - which has suffered financial difficulties in recent years - will continue to feature.

According to, Dorna is looking to start discussions with the owners of the Lausitzring in eastern Germany about taking World Superbikes back to the circuit, though it reportedly faces competition from the Sachsenring, current hosts of the MotoGP German Grand Prix.

The arrival of Dorna as series organisers has already led to a minor shake up of the calendar for 2013, with Laguna Seca, Jerez, Istanbul Park and the Indian Buddh circuit all being included, while the Austrian Red Bull Ring (formerly the A1 Ring) is tipped to make an appearance in 2014 as well.
