Toni Elias says he already feels like he is 'at home' with the Red Devils Roma Aprilia team after making a stunning impression on his World Superbike Championship debut in Turkey.

Having called time on his lengthy GP career, Elias will see out the season in the World Superbike Championship with a view to making a full-time switch in 2014.

However, while he came to the Istanbul Park venue with prior knowledge of the circuit - unlike many of his rivals -, Elias still headed out on track in FP1 having never thrown his leg over the RSV4 Superbike.

Despite this, Elias was straight up to speed in FP1, even briefly topping the times a portion of the way through the extended 90 minute session. Going on to finish in a remarkable fifth place, Elias repeated that feat in the more crucial Q1 session, the Spaniard just half a second from the top three and ahead of fellow satellite Aprilia rider Davide Giugliano.

Delighted to have gelled with the bike and the tyres so swiftly, while Elias insists there is plenty to come from him and the bike, he says he already feels 'at home'

"I am really impressed of this approach with Superbike and with this really fast bike. I did not expect such a grip from the first lap. I feel very confident with the Pirelli tyres, but I want to keep working on my feeling, particularly with the front.

"I still don't have the perfect feeling I am looking for, but I am working on it. I really thank my new team for trusting me and for their availability. I feel like I'm home with them.
