Bryan Staring is to step up to the World Superbike Championship from the next round at Donington Park after being drafted in to replace Michel Fabrizio in the IRON BRAIN Grillini Kawasaki team.

It emerged over the WSBK event at Imola that Fabrizio was set to part ways with the team following the weekend, with rumours suggesting Staring was being lined up to replace the Italian.

Staring has now confirmed as much on Twitter, with the Australian saying he will be seeing out the season the EVO specification Kawasaki ZX-10R.

The move will see Staring - who started the 2014 season in the World Supersport Championship with a one-off outing on the Rivamoto Honda - make his full-time WSBK debut from Donington Park, the former MotoGP rider having completed a handful of wild-card outings in recent years.

It is not known whether Fabrizio, the most experienced rider on the WSBK grid, will be heading elsewhere, the Italian marking his Grillini swansong with a double DNF.
