Team Hero EBR has revealed its colours for the 2015 World Superbike Championship following its first pre-season test in Portugal.

The manufacturer, which became the first American firm to compete in World Superbikes last season, head into 2015 with an overhauled operation, with Larry Pegram coming in as team manager-rider and former MotoGP rider Niccolo Canepa signed as its lead entry.

Having failed to score a point in 2014, EBR is stepping up its preparations for the new season by joining Ducati, Suzuki, Aprilia and MV Agusta for testing at Portimao, though its efforts were hampered by poor weather.

In the meantime, EBR has pulled the wraps off the livery it will race in 2015, with a red and silver design replacing the existing red and white look.

Following the test, Canepa says he is pleased with the progress made on the 1190RX, adding that he felt he was competitive against his rivals in terms of lap times.

"Because of the variable weather conditions we did 44-laps, which is not that bad, but I would have liked to have done more. Over the two days we worked very hard and changed the bike a lot and I am very happy about the progress we made. I think my lap times were good compared to the other riders and also compared to last year's time - both mine and last year's bike.

"The team is working really well together and we are all going in the right direction. The EBR has to be ridden differently to a Ducati, but every time I go out, I know I am improving my understanding of the bike.

"The technicians, suspension engineer and I are learning how to set-it up in the best way to find the perfect feeling. I think we are all doing a good job and I am excited about the possibilities for our next test."
