The 2018 World Superbike race calendar has been provisionally released by organisers Dorna and the FIM which confirms the arrival of an Argentinian round plus the return of Czech Republic’s Brno, while Lausitzring and Jerez drop off the calendar.

As expected, the El Villicum circuit in Argentina will make its World Superbike debut as the penultimate round on the calendar (12-14 October) before the traditional season finale in Qatar. The provisional 2018 calendar was released at the Losail International Circuit ahead of the final round of the 2017 championship.

After dropping off the World Superbike calendar in 2012, Brno returns from next season with the series retaining its 13-round championship as the contracts for Lausitzring and Jerez expire.

Donington Park retains the British round as expected, which could also host the British MotoGP round according to speculation,  while the only other major change is Laguna Seca being pushed forward in the calendar (22-24 June) to trade places with Misano (6-8 July).

The Misano round will mark a lengthy 10-week summer break with action resuming at Portimao (14-16 September) and Magny-Cours (28-30 September), with the French circuit hosting the season finale of the World Supersport 300 and European Superstock 1000 championships.

World Superbike and World Supersport will begin the season at Phillip Island (23-25 February) and the Chang International Circuit (23-25 March) before being joined by the support classes in Aragon (13-15 April). The two major championships will then see out the season in Argentina and Qatar in October.

There will also be two official tests lined-up with a pre-season test at Phillip Island on the 19-20 February plus one in-season test at Portimao on the 23-24 August.
