Reigning champions Ten Kate Honda have confirmed Florian Marino will be promoted from its 'Junior' operation to front the team's campaign in the 2011 World Supersport Championship.

Ten Kate's participation in Supersport had been in doubt owing to financial concerns, but having already firmed its line-up in both the World Superbike and Superstock Championships, it has now sorted at least one rider for the series it has won in eight of the last nine seasons.

The Frenchman had been tipped to make the move into the Supersport series after finishing runner-up to Jeremy Guarnoni, Marino winning three races under the Ten Kate Race Junior Honda banner.

He also made an appearance aboard the Honda CBR600RR towards the end of the WSS season as a prelude to his impending deal with the team.

The 17-year-old will get his first ride aboard the 2011-specification Honda when official testing gets underway for the first time later this month.
