Fresh from his maiden World Supersport race win at Assen, Chaz Davies will start from his first pole position at Monza after maintaining his dominance into final qualifying.

The Welshman has topped each Supersport session so far this weekend and maintained his form through to Q2 as his best of 1min 47.809secs stood with more than 20 minutes on the clock remaining.

It was enough to edge out the plucky Sam Lowes, who shrugged off his collarbone injury to qualify in second position on the Parkalgar Honda, just two tenths adrift of his countryman.

Kawasaki's Broc Parkes joins his younger rivals on the front row in third to make it three different manufacturers inside the top three, while Fabien Foret will also start from the front for the second race in succession in fourth place.

Series leader Luca Scassa, the pole winner at Donington Park and Assen, starts from sixth after missing part of the session due to a crash, the Italian dropping behind privateer Yamaha counterpart and countryman Roberto Tamburini.

Honda trio Florian Marino, James Ellison and Gino Rea will start seventh, eighth and ninth, the latter dropping from a provisional third as he continues to battle problems on his Step Racing machine, while Massimo Roccoli completes the top ten on the Lorenzini Kawasaki.
