Former Moto2 competitors WTR have announced its plans to join the World Supersport grid in 2012 with a view to making a switch to Superbikes in the future.

The Italian-based WTR outfit has teamed with Indian partners Ten 10 Racing to launch an ambitious assault on the WSBK paddock, one that will see it enter two bikes in World Supersport, Superstock 1000 and Superstock 600 series' in 2012.

WTR Ten 10 comes to WSS having competed in the 125cc World Championship in 2011, while it also submitted an entry for Valentin Debise during the first season of Moto2 racing in 2010.

Headed up by Fulvio Vannoni, Loris Castellucci and Simone Santolii, WTR Ten 10 Racing will enter Kawasaki machinery, with GPOne.com reporting that it is in talks with Massimo Roccoli, Debise and Alex Baldolini over the available rides.
