Staring, Rivamoto announce split

Rivamoto has confirmed it has parted company with Bryan Staring after just a single round of the 2014 World Supersport Championship after the former MotoGP rider ran into financial troubles.

The Russian outfit was a late addition to the WSS grid in the run up to the 2014 season opener in Australia six weeks ago after concluding a last minute deal with Staring to ride its Honda CBR600RR.

However, while the former Superstock 1000 race winner showed eye-catching pace on the machine, funding issues have forced the two parties to curtail their agreement ahead of round two at Motorland Aragon.

In the meantime, Rivamoto - which is run by former MotoGP front runner Jeremy McWilliams - is confident it will be on the grid in Spain with a new rider.

"It is extremely disappointing that we cannot continue with Bryan. He is an extremely talented rider and we wish him well. Rivamoto has been and will continue to negotiate with our sponsors and potential new partners to ensure that we can complete the season. We have already held talks with a number of potential riders and are confident that we will be on the grid at Aragon."
