Jules Cluzel has enjoyed a perfect Friday free practice at Aragon after topping both sessions, picking up from his victory in Thailand last time out.

The MV Agusta rider saw a number of riders chip away at his best FP1 time during the afternoon but thanks to his own gains he produced the fastest time of the day, 1m 55.324s, to hold a one-tenth advantage of surprise package Axel Bassani in second.

As the lap times ramped up in the closing stages Cluzel's rivals produced consistent fastest overall time splits in the first sector but struggled to match the French rider for the rest of the lap.

Despite this, just over half a second separate the top nine riders on the timesheet which points towards a tight and tense qualifying session tomorrow.

WSS regular Lorenzo Zanetti ended the day third overall ahead of Italian trio Roberto Rolfo, Alessandro Zaccone and Christian Gamarino.

The Kawasaki Puccetti duo of Kenan Sofuoglu and Randy Krummenacher, who posed the closest threat to Cluzel in the morning, narrowly lost out to take seventh and eighth respectively as American PJ Jacobsen and British rider Gino Rea completed the top ten.
