Christoffer Bergman is set to take up Luke Stapleford's ride at CIA Landlord Insurance Honda in World Supersport after the Briton split with the team at Aragon.

Stapleford has opted to run his Profile Racing Triumph in World Supersport with who he stormed to the British Supersport title last year. As a result, former World Superstock 1000 challenger Bergman steps in to complete the four bike line-up alongside Kyle Smith, Stefan Hill and Hikari Okbo.

Bergman, who is also a development rider for the racing department at Ohlins suspension, finished 10th in the World Superstock 1000 Cup last year and is thrilled to secure a ride for the remainder of the season.

"I was quite certain I wouldn't race this season because of some things happening over the winter so I was very happy to hear about this opening for me, even more excited when we could close the deal to race with CIA Landlord Insurance Honda," Bergman said. "I strongly believe I can be fighting high up once I get a good feeling and understanding for the bike."

Elsewhere on the World Supersport grid Ayrton Badovini will step in at Team Lorini Honda for the injured Glenn Scott at Assen after the Australian sustained a fractured tibia at Aragon and will miss at least the next three rounds.

Badovini is an experienced campaigner at World Superbike level who has two rostrum results to his name and finished 12th in the riders' championship last year despite missing three rounds.
