Kenan Sofuoglu has demonstrated all his experience as defending World Supersport champion by pinching top spot from Kyle Smith with his final flying lap heading into qualifying.

The Kawasaki Puccetti Racing rider made the most of the improving condition to set the fastest time of the weekend - including times set in World Superbike in the wet weather - as the World Supersport FP3 dried up as the session ran on.

Smith look assured of top spot for CIA Landlords Insurance Honda but in the end missed out by over a second, while Sofuoglu's team-mate Randy Krummenacher found impressive gains to rise to third.

PJ Jacobsen continued to impress in fourth ahead of Gino Rea and Ondrej Jezek. Alex Baldolini, Lorenzo Zanetti, Bryan Schouten and Axel Bassani completed the top ten as Jules Cluzel continued to struggle in wet conditions only managing 13th.
