Swiss rider Randy Krummenacher opened up quickest with an impressive time to head FP1 at Misano by half-a-second.

The World Supersport rookie's time of 1m 39.005s on the Puccetti Kawasaki was 0.546s faster than Gino Rea in second on the GRT Racing MV Agusta, with reigning champion Kenan Sofuoglu third fastest on the second of the Puccetti Kawasaki machines.

Ayrton Badovini (Team Lorini Honda) was fourth fastest, 0.632s behind Krummenacher, while the top six was completed by MV Agusta Reparto Corse's Jules Cluzel and Federico Caricasulo (Bardahl Evan Bros. Honda).

PJ Jacobsen lapped in 1m 39.854s as the America finished seventh in FP1 for the Honda World Supersport Team ahead of Alex Baldolini (Race Department ATK#25 MV Agusta), who lost time in the session after sliding out unhurt.

Axel Bassani in ninth was the top FIM Europe Supersport Cup rider on the San Carlo Team Italia Kawasaki.
