Randy Krummenacher shot back to the top of the World Supersport timing screens to end Saturday morning narrowly clear of team-mate Kenan Sofuoglu.

The Puccetti Kawasakis were both in strong shape, mirroring their form on Friday, with Krummenacher's fastest lap of 1m 38.299s more than half a second faster than Sofuoglu's best effort on Friday afternoon.

Less than one tenth (0.095s) separated the pair at the close of the 15 minutes with local youngster Federico Caricasulo (+0.263s) the only man to get within half a second of the leading pair.

PJ Jacobsen was fourth fastest, yet his gap to the leader (+0.877s) suggested the American still has some time to find, should he wish to produce a victory challenge on Sunday.

There was a strong showing from Gino Rea, who powered his MV Agusta F3 675 to fifth place with Christian Gamarino in sixth. Sepang race winner Ayrton Badovini was seventh with Jules Cluzel a distant eighth. The Frenchman's best lap was some 1.5 seconds off Krummenacher's best effort.

Axel Bassani was an impressive ninth, and the best of the European Supersport Cup runners with Alessandro Zaccone completing the top ten.
