Federico Caricasulo has kept hold of top spot from Friday practice in the 20-minute FP3 session while less than two-tenths of a second split the top five.

The GRT Yamaha rider led proceedings in FP1 before rain hit Friday afternoon’s session which denied the majority of the World Supersport grid the chance to improve.

But in dry conditions this morning, Caricasulo has maintained his momentum at his home round with a 1m 37.980s to edge ahead of Jules Cluzel on the NRT Yamaha.

Caricasulo’s GRT Yamaha teammate Lucas Mahias looked set to battle against the top two but his final lap was deleted for exceeding track limits, while he had set overall fastest sector times by the first split, but was restrained to third place.

Sandro Cortese had led the early running in FP3 but slipped down to fourth on the Kallio Racing Yamaha but kept ahead of Randy Krummenacher on the Bardahl Evan Bros Yamaha.

Anthony West represented the best of the rest for EAB Racing Kawasaki – half a second off Caricasulo’s top time – with Raffaele De Rosa in seventh behind West to lead the MV Agusta challenge.

Stefano Valtulini (Pleo Racing Kawasaki), Thomas Gradinger (NRT Yamaha) and Lorenzo Gabellini (G.A.S. Racing Yamaha) rounded out the top 10 at the end of FP3.
