Lucas Mahias has disrupted the Yamaha domination in the World Supersport championship by taking pole position in Misano with his final flying lap for Puccetti Kawasaki.

The former World Supersport champion bolted to the top with a 1m 38.909s on his last lap to push down local favourite Federico Caricasulo by two-tenths of a second.

Randy Krummenacher completes the front row on the sister Bardahl Evan Bros Yamaha despite suffering a mid-session fall.

Hannes Soomer produced an impressive qualifying to take fourth place for WILSport Racedays Honda in front of Jules Cluzel (GMT94 Yamaha) who led the early efforts. Wildcard Luca Ottaviani completes the second row on the SGM Tecnic Yamaha ahead of Isaac Vinales (Kallio Racing Yamaha).

Raffaele De Rosa continues to lead the MV Agusta charge in eighth place as Hikari Okubo (Puccetti Kawasaki) and Lorenzo Gabellini (Gomma Racing Yamaha).
