SEAT continued to prove that they will be the team to beat throughout the second round of the World Touring Car Championship at Puebla as they locked out the top four positions during the first free practice.

With Yvan Muller edging BMW to top testing yesterday, it was Rickard Rydell this time taking his turn in front, the Swede going a comfortable three tenths quicker than Gabriele Tarquini. With Muller third and Jordi Gene fourth, SEAT look in good shape to produce something similar to their 1-2-3-4-5-6 result in Mexico last season.

BMW's factory trio followed just behind in fifth, sixth and seventh, with Augusto Farfus leading Andy Priaulx and Jorg Muller, although the Brazilian will be frustrated to see a six tenth difference between himself and the leader.

Proteam's Felix Porteiro continued to comfortably lead the way in the Independents' category, while Tiago Monteiro and Alex Zanardi rounded out the top ten.

Seemingly struggling more here than they did in Curitiba, Chevrolet's best driver was Nicola Larini down in 13th, although their cause hasn't been aided by an oil leak for Rob Huff, one that prevented him from setting a time.
