SEAT have appealed a 30 second penalty given to Gabriele Tarquini after he was judged to have caused an avoidable accident in the second World Touring Car race at Puebla.

Tarquini was brought up before the stewards after spinning Jorg Muller off the circuit during their battle for second position, the move earning him a 30 second penalty and a suspended ten place grid drop for the next race.

Dropping him from eighth to 18th position, SEAT have subsequently appealed the decision, meaning the results remain suspended until a further decision has been made.

Felix Porteiro would claim the eighth and final point if Tarquini loses his appeal.
