Citroen has retained its FIA WTCC manufacturer title after taking a clean sweep of pole position and both race victories in China.

Such has been the French team's dominance this season the Citroen drivers notched up five of the six rostrum places over the two races at Shanghai as well as a 1-2-3 in the opener thanks to Jose Maria Lopez's victory followed closely by Yvan Muller and Sebastien Loeb.

Muller was able to go one better in race two to claim the win with Lopez third. The healthy points haul means Citroen has collected an unassailable points lead over both Honda and Lada in the manufacturer championship to retain its 2014 title.

"First of all, I would like to thank our drivers for the work they have done and for their sense of fair play," Yves Matton, Citroen team principal, said. "Even with the best car and the best team, you can't achieve these kinds of results without exceptional drivers.

"In particular, I would like to thank Yvan, who was the first to join us and made sure we were ready from the very start of the 2014 season. When we talk about Citro?n Racing that also includes all the staff at our technical centre. They are an integral part of this World Championship title."
