Shaun Muir has confirmed that Guy Martin will be cheering team-mate Stuart Easton from the sidelines in Macau this weekend after his heavy accident in provisional qualifying.

For the second year in succession, Martin will be unable to take part in the legendary race after crashing early on in free practice, the Hydrex BSB rider being briefly knocked unconscious in the process.

Although his trip to the hospital was a precautionary one, FIM rules state that any rider knocked unconscious in an accident cannot race again for another seven days. As such, Martin will be forced to cheer Easton, who qualified sixth, from the pit wall.

A sour end to what has been a difficult season for Martin as a whole, Hydrex Bike Animal team manager Muir admits the accident 'summed' up his year.

"That just about sums up Guy's season! The good news is that he's OK but it's not the way neither he nor Bike Animal wanted to end the season. Despite that, he's in good spirits and was out watching Stuart in second qualifying with us."
