Haas has become the first team to reveal its new Formula 1 car for the 2018 season after releasing a video featuring a render of the VF-18 on Wednesday.

Sporting the new-for-2018 Halo cockpit protection, Haas dropped the surprise reveal in a video posted to its Twitter account, getting the jump on the rest of the field that will release their designs in the next two weeks.

The Haas VF-18 retains the white, grey and red colour scheme the team has raced with since making its debut in 2016. The new livery does have a greater white focus, though, particularly across the engine cover towards the back of the car.

"People see what we can do in Formula 1 and people believe Haas Automation can build world-class machine tools. Being a Formula 1 participant brings a level of credibility that you just won’t get through traditional advertising," said team owner Gene Haas.

“We eliminated a lot of the variables where we knew we were weak. We’ve focused on what it’s going to take to get our car to be consistent and close that gap to the top teams."

Haas will once again be represented by Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen through 2018 as it looks to improve on its eighth-place finish in last year's constructors' championship.

Neat and Nimble... Fin almost looking like Chamfered Shark...

Looks great and really nice colour scheme

Lets hope it goes as fast as it looks...

It is only cosmetically different then last years  FERRARI. Very detailed for a launch specification. VF-18 rendering pretty much an SF-70H.
