Misano MotoGP winner Marc Marquez admits he was left saddened by the reaction of some spectators who cheered when he fell during morning warm-up.

The Repsol Honda rider was also jeered on the rostrum, after he denied Danilo Petrucci and Ducati victory on home soil at the Marco Simoncelli Circuit.

Marquez, who is now tied on 199 points with Andrea Dovizioso at the top of the MotoGP World Championship, said he hoped his own fans would never behave in such a manner in the future, saying the ‘feeling is not nice’.

“This honestly makes me sad because the podium I can understand, but what I cannot understand is when you crash and the grandstand cheers,” said Marquez.

“We are riding at 300kph there on the track, we are pushing the limit, our life is there and we can get injured.

“I hope that in the future, minimum my fans never do this with any rider because the feeling is not nice.”

Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo have frequently been booed by fans of Valentino Rossi, after an acrimonious end to the 2015 world championship. Misano is the Italian's home track, although Rossi was unable to compete this weekend due to injury.

These are the type of people riders like vale rosi breathe! Very low minded people. But then again they wear chicken colours so it's understandable...
