Malaysian MotoGP, Sepang - Race Results

Race results from the Malaysian MotoGP at Sepang, round 15 of 18.
Dani Pedrosa wins first race since round four at Le Mans.

Team-mate Marc Marquez's championship lead grows to 43 points over Jorge Lorenzo with three races to go.

Marquez and Lorenzo exchanged places repeatedly early in the race - Lorenzo at one point bumping Marquez as he retook second. Marquez and Lorenzo shook hands on the slow down lap.

Honda LCR's Stefan Bradl was ruled out of the race after fracturing his right ankle in a final practice fall.

Yonny Hernandez continues to replace Ben Spies at Pramac Ducati, with Damian Cudlin taking over from Hernandez at PBM and World Supersport-ace Scassa replacing the injured Karel Abraham at Cardion AB..

Michael Laverty has taken over the ART of ex-team-mate Hernandez, with Cudlin on the PBM bike.

I think Jorge demonstrated a number of points in that race. He demonstrated that he is quite capable of giving as good as he gets (doesn't matter if he didn't beat Marquez) if he wants and it raises the question of does Dorna want that type of riding in the races or not. He also clearly demonstrated that two riders involved in their own battle can screw up the rest of the race by letting one bloke get away at the front. Hardly a great setup for the last half of the race. The ball is put firmly back into Dorna's court to decide how much danger they're prepared to accept in the running of their "show"....

Look I'm not saying Rossi isn't a great champion , but the expiry date on his meal has past. The time for him to have hung up his gloves was at the end of the 2010 season , anything further from that is tarnishing his reputation. Stoner retired 3 years too soon and Rossi is aproaching 3 years too late.
