The first official MotoGP test of 2015 got underway at Sepang in Malaysia on Wednesday.
The test features the full rider line-up except Yonny Hernandez, who is recovering from an injured shoulder after a training accident. Pramac has called-up Ducati test rider Michele Pirro to take Hernandez's place.
The factory Ducati Team is using revised GP14.3 machinery, with the all-new GP15 due to debut at the second Sepang test later this month.
Repsol Honda riders Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez set the pace during the opening hours of today's test, until Movistar Yamaha's Valentino Rossi jumped 0.6s clear of the field shortly after midday.
Rossi remained fastest until the final five minutes, when world champion Marquez vaulted from fifth to first, with a lap time 0.118s quicker than the Italian.
Testing, which took place between 10am and 6pm, continues on Thursday and Friday. Saturday will be dedicated to Michelin tyre development for factory test riders.
