As a result, all except Colin Edwards set their fastest Friday lap times during the morning session, with Chris Vermeulen quickest of all in the much wetter second hour.

500GP race winner Tady Okada has returned as a wild-card this weekend, to give the pneumatic-valve Honda engine its MotoGP debut.
