Ferrari chief designer Rory Byrne has been asked to focus on trying to improve the first lap performance of the F2005 in an attempt to give the teams' drivers a better chance in qualifying.

Kimi should have pitted, says Barrichello.
Rubens Barrichello has said that Kimi Raikkonen should have pitted at the Nurburgring two weeks ago, rather than chance it with a badly flat-spotted front tyre - something that ultimately caused the suspension on his McLaren to fail putting him out while leading with just one lap to go.

Michelin motorsport director Pierre Dupasquier has insisted that Kimi Raikkonen's last-lap crash at the European Grand Prix was not a consequence of natural tyre wear, but a result of one incident during the Finn's race towards almost certain victory.
