Yoong gets first taste of F1 pit stops.
Driving the latest-specification European Minardi PS01B chassis, Alex Yoong this morning (Thursday) kicked off a two-day Formula One test programme at the picturesque Mugello circuit, near Florence, by successfully completing 200 km (41 laps) of running in 90 minutes.
Mugello test - day three: 23 August.
The third day of testing at Mugello saw Michael Schumacher taking the fastest time of 1m24.893s for Ferrari over 87 laps.

Trulli confirmed at Benetton.
Following the announcement that Giancarlo Fisichella will leave Benetton for Jordan next year, Benetton has today confirmed that Jarno Trulli will be joining the team for 2002 after they took up their option on the Italian driver.

Veteran McLaren staffer Jo Ramirez (pictured with Michael Schumacher at the Brazilian GP 1998) celebrated his 60th birthday this coming Monday with a fine present at the Hungarian Grand Prix from drivers Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard.

Yoong in for Monza?
Formula Nippon driver Alexander Yoong could become the first Malaysian Grand Prix driver, says Minardi team owner Paul Stoddart. The Australian said in Hungary this weekend that Yoong could race for Minardi at the Italian Grand Prix. He is expected to replace Tarso Marques.

Minardi to reveal 2002 engine deal soon.
The European-Minardi team have said that they will announce their engines for next year within the next couple of weeks.

Triple success for Ferrari at the Hungaroring.
Ferrari not only got a one-two finish at the Hungarian Grand Prix and a maximum 16 points but the Maranello based outfit also clinched their third consecutive Constructors' Championship and the 2001 Drivers' Championship.
