Irvine Ahead Of Schuey!
Eddie Irvine last week posted the fastest Winter testing time Ferrari has managed with the new F300 at their Mugello track in Italy. The 32 year old Irishman was over 0.5s quicker than Schumacher who was testing on the same day at the Tuscan race track.
South African Grand Prix Favourite.
It seems likely that Kyalami will host a 1998 South African Grand Prix in place of the Portuguese Grand Prix due to the fact that Estoril the circuit to host the Portuguese Grand Prix has not complied with changes to the circuit in time for the FIA deadline.
Arrows In The Dark!
TWR Arrows launched their 1998 F1 challenger on Tuesday 17/2/98 at their Leafield base in Oxfordshire, to everyone?s surprise the car was unveiled in a glossy black with white sponsor decals.
Ken Tyrrell Resigns!
In a shock move today (20/2/98) Ken Tyrrell, the Chairman of the Tyrrell Racing Organisation, announced that he is to step down as head of the famous team he founded in 1960. Business Development Director, Bob Tyrrell, his son has also resigned.

Ricardo Rosset, the final piece in the 1998 Formula One puzzle that signed with Tyrrell last week got his first run in the car today at Barcelona.

The final piece of the 1998 Formula One puzzle fell into place today as the 29 Brazilian driver, Ricardo Rosset signed for the Tyrrell Formula One team.

The latest in the McLaren MP4 family of F1 cars was launched at McLaren1s Woking headquarters on Thursday 5th February 1998, the car like the new Williams is similar in outlook to their predecessors but under the skin lies the truth.
Barcelona Testing - Minardi.
Shinji Nakano and Esteban Tuero were present for Minardi as they had their first test with the new M198 Minardi Cosworth powered car. Nakano drove for most of the week and expressed great pleasure and optimism for the 1998 season.
Barcelona Testing - Jordan.
The Jordan F1 team were present in Barcelona with Ralf Schumacher and Damon Hill, Damon doing most of the running during the week.
Barcelona Testing - Williams.
The Winfield Williams Grand Prix Team were present at the Circuit Catalunya this week preparing for the 1998 F1 season which begins in Melbourne on March 8th.
Nakano Signs For Minardi.
The Japanese driver Shinji Nakano who last year drove for the Prost Formula One team has today (30/1/98) signed for the small Italian Formula One team Minardi run by Giancarlo Minardi at Faenza.
First Tyrrell Test.
Tora Takagi today Thursday (29/1/98) tested the new Tyrrell 026 Cosworth powered F1 car for the first time at Silverstone, he aquitted himself well and stated that he was very happy with his first impressions of the car despite the damp and cold conditions at Silverstone.
Marques Joins The Queue At Tyrrell?
The latest driver to be linked to the Tyrrell F1 team is the ex Minardi driver Tarso Marques who was released from his contract last week.
First Test For Tyrrell.
The first expected outing for the 1998 Tyrrell 026 is expected to take place at the Silverstone Circuit on Thursday (29/1/98) it is also understood that Stewart may also be giving their new 1998 Stewart SF2 it's first run there as well.
Williams Fw20 Launched.
The Williams FW20, the car that will challenge for the 1998 FIA Formula One World Championship, was unveiled today (28/1/98) at Silverstone Circuit, UK by their two drivers 1997 F1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve and 1997 runner-up Heinz-Harald Frentzen.
Nakano To Join Minardi?
The Japanese F1 driver Shinji Nakano who drove for the Prost Mugen-Honda team last year may be in line for a seat at Minardi.
Damon Hill's First Jordan Test.
Damon Hill eventually got his hands on the new Jordan Mugen-Honda 198 at Barcelona this week, Damon first drove the car for a handful of laps late on Tuesday (20/1/98) afternoon.
Barcelona F1 Testing - Williams.
This week the Winfield Williams team have been testing at the Barcelona circuit along with several other teams, both drivers have been present Frentzen and current World Champion Jacues Villeneuve.
Benetton's First Test On Bridgestone.
The Mild Seven Benetton Formula One team were also present at Barcelona with Alex Wurz and Giancarlo Fisichella.
Mansell Banned For Six Months.
The 1992 FIA Formula One World Champion, Nigel Mansell has today (22/1/98) been banned from driving on the road for a total of six months due to a speeding offence.
Barcelona F1 Testing - Prost.
The Prost AP01 which was unveiled on Tuesday at the Spanish track was already into it's first intensive test session immediately after the launch.
New Sauber C17 F1 Car Launched.
The new Sauber Petronas C17 was today launched at the Vienna Opera House, the team will initially test next week at Fiorano in Italy home to Ferrari as they use their V10 engines but re-badged as Sauber Petronas engines.

The new Tyrrell 026 Formula One car for the 1998 F1 season was unveiled today at Terence Conran's Bluebird Restaurant in London (21/1/98).
