By Ollie Barstow In a season of two halves that has seen Fernando Alonso dominate the first part of the year and Michael Schumacher hit back in the second, it is appropriate the duo go to the penultimate round of the season well and truly neck and neck.

Alonso: I felt alone.
Following on from his comments in the Spanish press earlier in the week, Fernando Alonso has admitted to feeling 'abandoned' by the Renault team during the Chinese Grand Prix, although he denied talk of a rift between himself and team.

Ralf: I'm going to miss Suzuka...
Toyota's Ralf Schumacher has said that it will be sad if Suzuka is removed completely from the F1 calendar next season, although he is looking forward to going to the Fuji International Speedway, which will take over the baton in 2007 and host the Japanese Grand Prix.

Honda: We have 'special' V8 for Suzuka.
Honda senior technical director, Shuhei Nakamoto has confirmed that they will introduce a 'Suzuka special engine' this coming weekend at the Japanese Grand Prix, as they look to secure home glory.

Fernando Alonso is keeping his head high heading into the final two races of the season, despite arguably throwing away a comfortable Chinese Grand Prix victory with a crucial mistake regarding tyre choice on a continuously drying Shanghai circuit.

Sato thrown out as Honda rubbish 'dubious' claim.
Takuma Sato has been disqualified from the Chinese Grand Prix for his part in the incident that denied Nick Heidfeld a fourth place finish on the final lap, although Honda boss Nick Fry has rejected suggestions made by BMW that they had some part in the confusion.

Race stewards at the Chinese Grand Prix are to investigate the penultimate corner chaos that saw Nick Heidfeld punted out of fourth place, the German having been held up by back markers prior to being clipped by Rubens Barrichello.
