Fast start for Hayden, more 'frustration` for Biag
It was a case of contrasting fortunes for the Repsol Honda team on day one of the Qatar Grand Prix, with Nicky Hayden fastest of all in the morning session on his way to a day one third - while troubled team-mate Max Biaggi was left down the order in ninth.

He may have celebrated with 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs', but perhaps 'The Magnificent Seven' would have been a more fitting tribute to Valentino Rossi after the Italian sealed his seventh motorcycle world championship at Sepang on Sunday.

Capirossi wins, Rossi crowned 2005 champion.
Loris Capirossi has won his second MotoGP race in a row after beating Valentino Rossi to victory in today's Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang - but second for the Yamaha superstar was more than enough to secure The Doctor his fifth consecutive premier-class crown and seventh ever world title.

This afternoon's qualifying session at Sepang saw some local wildlife make a surprise appearance on track, as a sizable lizard crawled onto one of the high-speed straights during the one hour session.

Byrne: I`m treating the bike like solid gold!
Shane 'Shakey' Byrne had his first taste of the MotoGP big time at Malaysia today, when he completed his debut laps on the race-winning Camel Honda RC211V.

Jacque confirmed for Malaysia, Qatar.
As expected, Kawasaki test and development rider Olivier Jacque will replace the injured Alex Hofmann for this Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix and next Saturday's Qatar Grand Prix in Doha.

Melandri participation still `uncertain`.
Marco Melandri's participation in the Malaysian GP this weekend is still uncertain, although the Italian has now made the trip to Sepang for the latest round of the MotoGP season.

Having been forced to delay his 2005 title winning-celebrations after crashing out at Motegi, Valentino Rossi will head for this weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix needing to finish fourth or better to wrap up the crown.

Melandri heads for Malaysia.
Further checks on Marco Melandri, who sustained a deep flesh wound after being accidentally rammed by Valentino Rossi during Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi, have revealed no bone fractures or internal injuries.
