OMG Racing has reached a multi-year agreement to see Rich Energy become its title sponsor from 2020.

The team is currently preparing for pre-season testing having switched to BMW S1000RR machinery for the upcoming campaign after signing ex-MotoGP rider Hector Barbera alongside the retained Luke Mossey as its Bennetts British Superbike championship line-up.

OMG Racing will unveil its new livery in the coming weeks which will feature Rich Energy’s logos and branding on the bike in both BSB and on its road racing efforts.

“We are delighted to announce Rich Energy as our title sponsor for the upcoming racing season and beyond, and to officially launch our 2020 Rich Energy OMG Racing BMW S1000RR,” Alan Gardner, OMG Racing team owner, said.

“We are well aware of the previous controversy linked to Rich Energy; however, William Storey and the team at Rich Energy have been very transparent in their business dealings, to give us full confidence in our partnership to move ahead.

“We have always put our fans at the forefront of our plans, and this link gives us the opportunity to increase the amount we invest into new opportunities for our supporters to enhance their racing experience and build new audiences. The partnership also includes long-term commitments to develop both the OMG and Rich Energy brands as key supporters of British motorsport talent.”

Rich Energy are former title sponsors to the Haas F1 team but split midway through the first season of its partnership in 2019 and has also previously held talks to form a partnership with Williams.

OMG Racing is dovetailing its BSB efforts with a first campaign in road racing, taking on both the North West 200 and the Isle of Man TT, having signed up David Johnson and James Hillier. Last year Johnson had Rich Energy as a personal sponsor.

“The partnership with OMG is perfect. They have ripped up the rulebook in motorsport and come from nowhere to be one of the leading teams in the world,” Rich Energy CEO Williams Storey added.

“Their technical expertise, commitment to innovation and support of riders is a perfect fit for Rich Energy and this wide-ranging partnership will also see the team become a major platform for the brand and driver of new distribution.”
